Run a search on "how to kill ants" and home remedies are everywhere.
Most suggested baby powder sprinkled across the ants' entry to the room or home. Others suggested a mixture of viniger and water, or even full strength. Others, hot soapy water poured into their holes outside. Sitll others suggested cinniamon, borax, boric acid be sprinkled along the edge of the home. The farmer's almanac suggested feeding them grits to dehydrate them. Other sites suggested planting mint outside the home to discourage ants.
Cute, but really...
Nonesence, just spray and pray they don't return.
A co-worker asked me today, how she could remedy her ant problem.
She'd spilled somthing on her coffee table and noticed ants swarmed the spill area, even after she cleaned it with lysol spray.
Her mother told her to clean the area with soap and water.
I said she should talk to the property managers at her apartment complex to fix the problem. I'll always try diversion for a first attempt.
Then I suggested a more thorough cleaning. And using some ant traps and pesticides.
Maybe its just me, but I like sure fixes.
I'd rather use ant killer, like raid and bomb the house while I'm at work.
It's been a long time since i've been plagued by ants, but in the past, raid and those cute little poison boxes have always worked for me.
There are a host of other, less chemical fixes I've found since the question was posed, but I'll go with chemo therapy for those little pests.
