Harvard discovers the obvious

Unsurprisingly, our left-wing media has virtually ignored the results of a long-term Harvard University on diversity in America.
One always hears the clichéd argument proclaiming the benefit of diversity with the claim that "Our country was built on diversity." A truly meaningless and probably even an inaccurate statement. I have never heard a truly persuasive defense of the politically correct idea that diversity is a good thing for the country - only generalities about somehow adding to our culture. In fact, I have always suspected that multiculturism and diversity are, in fact, a drag on the culture for reasons so obvious one could anticipate the results of such a study. The study, which the government no doubt granted a few million dollars to the Harvard group to perform, came up with the following: The more diverse a culture, the less the members participate in group community functions, the less the volunteering, and the least amount of full-community activity. People become balkanized, remaining within their own ethnic society, more aloof, and never becoming part of the fabric of traditional American social culture. My response to these results is: duh.
