I just watched a U-tube video of a teacher indoctrinating what appears to be a first grade class on how wonderful is Barack Obama. If not for the English language and the subject head of state, one could just as well be seeing a class room in 1930's Nazi Germany, or modern day Communist China, North Korea, or Cuba. One of the first moves a totalitarian leader or, in this case a leftist government elementary school teacher makes is to go after the minds of the children. The Nazi regime was famously successful with their Hitler youth program. Our leader actually created a speech and televised asked the nation's schools to take time out from class and televise it to the students. It is chilling to see that the left wing has virtually taken over (I was tempted to use the more emotionally laden word, infested) our education system from Kindergarten right through college. Why are 90 percent of teachers and college professors liberal? I just learned that there is not a single registered Republican on the Princeton University faculty. Unlike Conservatives, who are typically more interested in making money, growing a business, succeeding financially and living the good life, Liberals are interested in changing the world, "making a difference," curing world hunger, and making everyone equal, even if it means taking the property of one group and giving it to another. They are activists with a goal who see teaching as a vehicle for indoctrinating American youth with their left-wing agenda. Here, liberal crusaders can make an indelible mark upon malleable young people. Obama supporter and Left-wing writer, John Dunphy, who was a crusader for expunging any references to God from our schools, wrote, "The battle for humankind's future must be fought in the public school classroom by teachers who correctly perceive their role as proselytizers."

One could almost admire Obama for his ability to stand up to the American public and lie with such conviction, ease, and grace - if one was a con man or scam artist. He is a gracious liar. All bureaucrats tell plenty of whoppers during election campaigns - we expect it - and I am sure they would reach great heights of prevarication if they spoke to the public as often as the slippery Obama. I read that he has spoken publicly over 120 times since his election. However, Obama is the grand champion, gold medal, super, duper, Liar-in-Chief. He told three lies to the public Sunday on one of the talk shows. He said that during the Bush years, only the top 1% of the public saw their salaries increase, and the other 99% saw their incomes remain flat. This is another Obama lie; every single income category saw increases in earnings over the years because of the Bush tax cuts. The Liar-in-Chief said that, during the last 8 months, his government had taken measures to decrease carbon emissions significantly. The Obama government has done no such thing. The L.I.C, in Clintonesque style, said that his Obamacare plan mandating that each and every American make monthly payments for fine-enforced health care is not a tax. His own Internal Revenue Service contradicted him and said that, if the government adds a section to the tax code that requires the taxpayer to increase his payment, and that payment and enforces that payment with penalties, it is a tax increase. He often tells us he is a champion of free trade and then places a tariff on imports. I am not making this up, the Obama people call tariffs, "border adjustment mechanisms." He placed a tariff on Chinese low-end tires, alienating our top trading partner, raising tire prices for all Americans, and saving almost no jobs, all because the United Steelworkers, asked him to. Of Obama's indifference to the truth, Writer George Will said, "He says so much about so many things, perhaps he cannot keep track of the multiplying contradictions in his endless utterances."

Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution itemizes the specific duties and obligations of the federal government: providing a military for national security, coining money, establishing rules for immigration and citizenship, establishing rules for bankruptcy, setting up a postal system, establishing trademark and copyright rules, and setting up a legal system to resolves disputes. In case you have not noticed the gradual slide of the American government into a socialist, totalitarian state, look around. Check out the government restrictions upon our food, housing, transportation, communications, safety rules, and on and on. Congressional Democrats have been casting about for years trying to find a way to censor opposing views in talk radio. I read today that the Consumer Product Safety Commission may extend their totalitarian power of enforcement over new products to all used products as well. This means government political correctness police will have control over the sale of all manner of used items. The Government could fine you for failing to meet its safety requirements regarding those $1.00 items at your yard sale.

It is difficult to assess the damage Obama has done to our relationship with other countries and our national prestige when he announced the U.S. would remove the anti-missile shield protecting our once-friendly Eastern European allies. He is clearly cow-towing to the Russians who fought hard, and even made threats against those Eastern European nations, about the shield because it lessened Russia's power over the those nations. The shield made it almost impossible to bring the former Soviet Union members back into their fold. Obama, the minister of change, is destroying the huge effort that the previous administration put into protecting our Polish and Czech allies. Writer Frank Gaffney labeled Obama's inept, un-presidential foreign policy as the "Obama Doctrine" and summarized it as undermining our friends, emboldening our enemies and diminishing our country. The true nature of that political decision is also clear: Team Obama believes that by removing missile defenses that we will need in the future and abandoning our allies, the United States will get assistance from the Russians in minimizing the Iranian threat. There is, sadly, no reason to believe that such help will be forthcoming. As with all of Obama's reasoning, this is also fallacious. Vladimir Putin is helping Iran threaten the world, with nuclear technology, anti-aircraft defenses and political protection against international sanctions.

The house rules committee chairman sent out an update to the House advising them of rules of decorum in public statements. The emphasis was apparently upon comments made to and about the President. That is, when Congressman Wilson said the President was lying to the joint session when the Liar-in-Chief told a whopper to the entire Congress and the country. Specifically, when Obama said his pet Social Welfare program, government health, would not provide health care for illegal aliens. Democrats had purposefully stricken from the bill two stipulations that called for verification of citizenship as a requirement for free health care. The House rules include the following restrictions:
. One may not call the President a "liar."
• One may not call the President a "hypocrite."
• One may not describe the President's veto of a bill as "cowardly."
• One may not charge that the president has been "intellectually dishonest."
• One may not refer to the President as "giving aid and comfort to the enemy."
It is not a very big leap to note the timing of this rules reminder given that our new President has demonstrated that he is all of the above and a few more not mentioned. How about adding the one about the President being a pacifist dove who is gradually eroding away our national security and the ability to defend ourselves against foreign threats.

Obama the wonderful is seemingly intent upon ushering the American economy straight into the ground by forcing it further toward a full-fledged depression in the manner that FDR plunged us into a depression with the cure that almost killed us - the New Deal. One of Obama's Marxist advisors, and he has a cadre of them - has apparently told him that, along with raising taxes, one of the worst blows a government can deliver to a free economy is to impose trade tariffs upon the goods of its best trade partners. Obama has decided to impose a tariff on tires from China, our nation's second-largest trading partner, and the country that owns most of America's debt. Nations do not look favorably upon this sort of thing and always retaliate economically with their own tariffs and new limits and restrictions upon many of the goods they provide for our market. Obama did this supposedly to protect or restore 5000 jobs in the tire manufacturing industry. In other words, to protect a few union jobs in an isolated industry, he is not only raising the price of tires but the prices of every other Chinese-made product that the other 295 million Americans now get at reasonable prices. How many jobs will we lose because of the pressure that higher prices place upon businesses to cut back on their costs? Way to go Obama, you just put a big spike in your country's coffin.

Some say Count Obama is destroying our economy with all the wild deficit spending, bureaucratic take-over of business, and now imposition of tariffs that are guaranteed to anger our trading partners merely because of stupidity. He is a lawyer who has spent his career running for office, has never run a business or managed a staff. Many very smart people, who have studied American politics for years, are increasingly writing that he has his personal goals and is striving for something more insidious than just tinkering with solutions and campaigning for the next election. They say that his goal is the complete control of every aspect of our society. That his recent actions are purposefully destructive to our economy, because a failing economy is one that is vulnerable to government takeover, such as his big drive for a government run health system. I am now convinced that the latter scenario is true. Yesterday he said, referring to the majority of America and the Republican Party, "They can't stop us." Respected journalist Charles Krauthammer wrote the following: "Obama's three main goals are to control ENERGY, PUBLIC EDUCATION, and NATIONAL HEALTHCARE by the Federal government. He does not care about the auto or financial services industries, but got them as an early bonus. The cap and trade will add costs to everything and
stifle growth. Paying for FREE college education is his goal. Most scary is his
healthcare program, because if you make it FREE and add 46,000,000 people to a
Medicare-type single-payer system, the costs will go through the roof. The only
way to control costs is with massive RATIONING of services, like in Canada."

Have you noticed how our new boy-President gets his ire up when the slightest criticism comes his way? Having never actually managed or run anything and having spent his life posturing, community organizing (translation: agitating and instigating unrest) and running for public office, he has never developed a thick skin that most pols have found necessary for survival. To him a criticism is like a pie in the face. He is, after all, the new ruler, Obama, the Messiah, the exalted one. He is so unaccustomed to dissenting opinions that he is the first president to attack private citizens and talk show hosts and not just go after the other political party. He and his henchmen are still attacking Sarah Palin, even though she is no longer in politics. They attempted to destroy Joe the Plumber who spoke out at Obama's public meeting. He may also be the first president to be so deserving of criticism. His address to Congress on Wednesday night was so full of misleading information, hyperbole, and outright lies, it convinced me the man is a cheap unethical, un-presidential, Chicago politician with an unseemly hunger for applause and a willingness to distort history for political effect. One writer said Obama's pension for saying anything, without regard for the truth, to make political points indicates he has no respect for the American people and, in fact, may loathe them. The man who promised to unify America and make it a better place has instead ripped it apart with partisan politics, racial tensions, waging class warfare and now seems to have destroyed the market economy.

The new ruler of the Socialist Republic of America, Barack Hussein Obama, has put on a full court press for his favorite incursion and takeover of the American market economy - the health care system. I read that before his Wednesday night sales presentation to a joint session of Congress, he has spoken on health care 111 times in the past few months. Ironically, during all that glib speechmaking, he has been explicit about only three elements of his multi-trillion Frankenstein monster, and his own Congressional Budget Office has debunked all three of those claims as lies. He said there would be no cuts in Medicare; he said his government run plan would cost less than the present system; he said the American people are unhappy with their current plan. The CBO said there would necessarily have to be Medicare cuts that the plan would cost $1.2 trillion more in the budget, and several polls show that 80% of the American people are happy with their current health plans. He continues to put up Canada's national health system as a model, yet Canada has recognized its system is a failure and warns us not to make the same mistake. Canada is choking on a 65% tax rate to pay for their misguided system, pays over $4.00 for gas, and still has poor medical coverage. It may take 111 more sales talks for the great orator to convince the American people to accept government control of health. An unbelievable new bureaucracy, shortages of doctors, treatments, and medicines, long waits, death conferences determining the fate of the sick and elderly, and, now I understand, forced unionization of all those thousands of government health workers. Terrific.

Have ever wondered why we have such pervasive ignorance of basic Economics in America and why the Democrat lawmakers running the country are doing all the wrong things to try to recover from the recession? A piece in the E.R. went all a long way toward providing an answer. A staff writer, who obviously has never read a book on economics, did a feature article on the Legislature's attempt at reining in the state's runaway deficit spending. The article featured a study by a "Chico State Professor Emeritus and lead economist for the Center for Economic Development." Are you impressed already? Do not be; this is a typical liberal professor who never ran a company or read a book by Nobel Prize Economist Milton Friedman or any other real economist, posing as an expert. To attempt to give his numbers the appearance of respectability, he used a computer program hoping to get them past the smell test - a foul odor for even a novice. Are you ready? He made the case that the two furlough days per month for California college professors, which is a 10% cut in salary, will result in a 50% cut in professors' discretionary spending. Actually, two days of furlough is a 9% pay cut, but, when a faux expert already knows the results he wants, he tends to cut corners. It was a tortured dissertation making the incredible case that the furloughs would cost the county $10.2 million in revenue, the loss of 70 jobs, and a decrease in college enrollment. One is supposed to believe that California college professors make such a marginal salary (anyone who believes that, please wake up and get out of bed) they will have to start living on bread and water. The bottom line message to this tripe appears to be that, if one has runaway deficit spending, do not cut spending, just keep taking from the taxpayers. Economic illiterates never seem to understand that you cannot spend your way out of debt. And, oh yes, another reason to keep spending taxpayer money is because cuts in spending helps only the big box discount stores such as Wall-Mart, who still get the business, and Wall-Mart is bad. They violate a liberal tenant; they are not unionized.

We are living in a wonderland world with Alice the only missing ingredient. We are in "Obama in Wonderland." White is black, up is down, and common sense is no longer a guiding principle. Our Congress, there to represent us in the affairs of our country, is in the hands of crooked lawyers, cheats, and America-haters who believe we are the cause of all the world's problems. Our President is an extreme Leftist who spent his career development years at the feet of extremists such as Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, and Bernadine Dorn. His attempt to fill his cabinet posts was long and messy because he was unable to find qualified, liberals because they were found, with only superficial vetting, found to be tax cheats. None other than our Treasury Secretary, the man directing the IRS, was a tax cheat. Congressman, Democrat Slime-Pol Charlie Rangel, this week vowed to find and remedy the problem of tax cheating citizens. This is beyond hypocritical, a trait that seems to be a hallmark of Rangel's long stay in Congress. He is the same man who failed to report several property sales on his income tax the past few years. The Attorney General - another tax cheater - is persecuting the CIA agents, who garnered enough intelligence from captured terrorists to keep America safe for the past eight years. Will this not discourage agents from doing anything significant to keep us safe for another eight years? Environmental Czar Van Jones, the worst kind of extremist, anti-white racist, a recent Obama appointment is a former member of "Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement (STORM)" which is an full-out Communist Organization. He is also a member of the lunatic fringe that believe the attack on 9/11 was an inside job. It is unthinkable that an extremist who believes in thes drivel is in a governmnet decision-making position.

Economist, Larry Kudlow, made a strong case that our economy, although struggling, is actually recovering from the unreasonable spending in spite of the Obama and the rest of the economics-challenged Democrats misguided actions. Kudlow reminded us that America, at least for the moment, is still a free-market economy, and it will be so until the illiterates, now controlling the country, take over the health-care and energy sectors as well as banking and the automobile industries. A free-market economy is resilient and self-correcting if only the bureaucrats keep their hands off. During a recession, such as the present turndown, businesses pare down inventory, streamline operations, and cut their prices as much as possible. Individuals may stop frivolous spending, but save their earnings in various investments. Investing puts capital into the market instead of into bureaucrat's hands. That is the scenario that brings the country back from recession. However, this meager start of a recovery will stall out before it gets momentum if the bureaucrats nationalize the huge health and energy industries. It is deja-vu for the country because the new holders of power refuse to learn from history. FDR came in with the New Deal that confiscated the country's industries, grew the government bureaucracy, snatched away many of our civil rights, and formed dozens of wasteful, pointless commissions that still exist today. After eight years of the New Deal, unemployment remained at 15 percent in 1940, which is double the figure today. What really got us out of the Depression was World War II. The total number of employed persons and military personnel increased from 44 million in 1938 to 65 million in 1944.

Follow-up on the power of the unions and the destructive force they wield. The unions have devised many ways to coerce companies to go along with the union and to force workers to join unions. A recent coercion method has become so common that we have a new name for it: Greenmail. Unions are blackmailing construction companies to use only union workers for new development projects by holding up construction with conjured up legal proceeding barriers under the pretext of concern for the environment. In point of fact, the unions could not care less about environmental issues, but only wish to extort companies into becoming unionized. Having bought and paid for the Democrat party, unions have pushed through various legislation to put pressure on workers, from secret union election ballots, which Hussein Obama has promised to enact into law, to forcing all hourly workers to contribute to the labor union whether or not they are members. The notoriously liberal Iowa Legislature made this law in their state. Labor unions long ago ceased to be a positive force in the U.S. economy or in the U.S. culture. The 12% of workers who belong to labor unions have, through political persuasion with campaign contributions, improved their lot at the expense of everyone else. Teachers unions have stifled innovation and dragged down our education system to the pathetic state to which it now exists.
