Remaking of America

One has to concede a point to Obama; he does not stand still in his re-make of America into a European-type Socialist country: government controlled, high taxes, dependent populace that strives to make every person equal by confiscating the wealth and earnings of some and giving it to others, ala the famous Marxist doctrine. He has done what one would expect the Senator ranked most liberal to do: nominated Hispanic Judge, Sonia Sotomayer, for lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court. It would be hard to find a sitting judge more liberal and more antithetical to the constitutional requirements of the position. She, as with all such inductees, must take the oath: "I, (name), do solemnly swear that I will administer justice without respect to persons, and do equal right to the poor and to the rich, and that I will faithfully and impartially discharge and perform all the duties incumbent upon me as (title) under the Constitution and laws of the United States. So help me God." She has stated on record the exact opposite of this oath; she said, "I would hope, that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life." Her philosophy is a perfect example of what can go wrong in a constitutional government: activist judges overturning the people's referendum and making law from the bench where their job is to make decisions based strictly on the written law. She made the incredible statement, "the Court of Appeals is where policy is made." No, no, no, it is not. Her sponsor, Obama, talks the same talk; he said, "The quality of empathy, of understanding and identifying with people's hopes and struggles is the key qualification for a Supreme Court justice." No, no, no. Someone said that we are learning something about the bias of some judges such as Sotomayer, but, more importantly, we are learning something about Obama.
