Everything looks peachy

The Obama-adoring Associated Press declared, "Country on right track with Obama." This headline was based upon a poll by (you guessed it) the Associated Press) that showed 48 percent of Americans believed that Obama is "taking the country in the right direction." (44 percent said the opposite.) When asked why they felt positive about the country's direction, one woman said, "He presents a very positive outlook," and "He is very well-spoken." A man responded, "Steps have been taken. I'm not sure if they are the right steps, but steps have been taken." The economy is in the tank, the stock market has lost half its value since Obama took over, unemployment keeps rising, more people are going on welfare - partly because President Clueless has increased welfare benefits and partly because of the economy. He has put us several trillion dollars in debt, nationalized banks and car companies putting government bureaucrats in control, a move that is guaranteed to make recovery more difficult. The most destructive actions President Clueless may have taken have been to weaken our national security, and to convince the world that he is a weak, ineffectual leader without leadership ability. From his recent globetrotting trip, we saw photographs of him kissing up to some of the world's worst U.S. hating dictators and read his naïve remarks about nuclear disarmament. He started his term by staffing his cabinet with leftist tax cheats. Yes, everything looks peachy for the country with Obama in charge. To paraphrase H. L. Mencken: Nobody ever went broke by underestimating the good sense of the American public.
