Linda Chavez wrote a column titled, "When in doubt, blame Bush," which pretty well defines Obama's leadership mode. She pointed out that the new President appears more and more un-presidential with this type low politics of shifting the blame for problems rather than stopping the buck on his own doorstep. During the election campaign, Obama told his leftist base what they wanted to hear about Guantanamo - that he would close the terrorist prison as one of his first actions. Now, this chicken has come home to roost, so what is President Wonderful doing about the issue - an issue that would be a non-issue if he had not lied to the voters for political gain. Other countries have flatly rejected his request to take some of the terrorists, Americans refuse to allow them into their states, and human rights groups have blocked rendition or sending them back to their home countries. Therefore, the best Obama can come up with is to whine about the situation, calling the Bush policies a "misguided experiment that has left in its wake a flood of legal challenges that my administration is forced to deal with on a constant basis." No president in our history has ever resorted to continually blaming the previous administration for national problems the way Obama seems to do. The man is a community organizer who speaks well, is very good at raising money for a new basketball court, and would be a good choice as presidential press secretary. A leader he is not.
