I still haven’t worked out the following Obama question.
Is he the most uninformed and ill-prepared person to assume the mantle of leader of the free world, or is her merely the most facile liar? He said there are positively, absolutely no earmarks in the monstrous stimulus bill. Since the Democrats have slipped in every unnecessary pork project in the bill under the guise of “stimulus,” he is either unaware of what the bill contains or he is parsing words, ala Bill Clinton’s analyzing the meaning of is. Obama said the Bush tax cuts got us into this recession, which is a blatant lie. The Democrat meddling via the Community Reinvestment Act stared us down the slippery slope to bank failures and economic sickness. Statements he made in his Monday talk move one toward accepting the liar scenario. He told some fat ones: he said the debate was between doing something – his plan – or doing nothing – the Republicans. This is not true. Although there is a good case one could make for doing nothing, the GOP has a stimulus package that is primarily tax cuts. He said there is “nearly unanimous agreement among economists that his $825 billion plus spending plan is the only way to get our economy moving again.” This is another fat lie. Many economists, professors, and think tanks have criticized the plan and questioned its value as an economic stimulus. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) is also highly critical of it.
