I realize it is too late since Obama and the DemPols have rolled over all opposition and passed the ridiculous stimulus bill, but the solution to our economic problems and remedy for the recession was not complicated.
We should have sent the 535 members of Congress home for an indefinite period, call it a vacation with full pay (well, we taxpayers have to pay these freeloaders their salaries and benefits anyway.) Then, send Dog-and-pony expert, Obama, around the country on Air Force-1 giving campaign speeches and wowing the public with rhetoric, since that is what he does best. If we could only have kept these bureaucrats away from Washington and stopped them from passing ridiculous, harmful laws and meddling with the economy. If only we could have stashed them where they could do no harm. The economy and the ironclad laws of supply and demand will fix an ailing economy if only the bureaucrats would keep their clumsy hands off. Weak, inefficient banks and businesses will fail, and the efficient will prosper, build, and start hiring more employees again. Foreign trade, unhindered by DemPol tariffs and restrictions, will give consumers the best price for the best product and allow businesses to thrive and hire new employees.
