My feelings toward the French run the gamut from dislike to loathing, starting with my learning that the U.S. pays for the Normandy memorial and cemetery where all those Americans, who died to save France’s bacon, are buried.
Hence, I took notice of two items that appeared in the news on the same day. The French Government deported thousands of Jews and caused thousands of Jewish deaths during the Second World War, and the French Government has admitted it now for the first time. However, the admission was accompanied with a statement that they would not compensate victims’ families.
The other item was a British Sun report that, “British and French nuclear submarines collided deep under the Atlantic and could easily have sunk one of the vessels or released deadly radioactivity. The Sun reported,” The Royal Navy’s HMS Vanguard and the French Navy’s Le Triomphant are both nuclear powered and were carrying nuke missiles.”
Is there any truth to the rumor that the first thing the French did was surrender?
