The inept California legislature has finally passed another budget and, in usual DemPols fashion, it raises taxes and increases spending.
We live in the worst managed state in America, with the most bloated government, the most laws on the books that trickle away our freedoms of choice, the most new laws annually, the highest taxes, the worst schools even though we spend nearly the most per student, the worst bond rating on the financial market, we are flirting with bankruptcy, and our largest cash crop is marijuana. Ever wonder why we Californians are right there with New York with the highest taxes, highest cost of living, most restrictive small business climate, yet most law-riddled, freedom-limited state? This is not a challenging question. We two states have one-party, locked in Democrat political systems with Liberal hugely expensive, overstuffed, junket-taking legislatures. Cap that off with the most left-wing press and the looney-left Hollywood crowd with lots of money to spend on liberal politicians. With their help, the public employees unions – the fire, police, and civil servants – call the shots. The teachers’ unions’ fat managers have destroyed the school system by blocking innovation at every turn and rewarding teachers for longevity rather than achievement and by protecting incompetent tenured teachers that give all the good ones a bad name. It was not that long ago that California was a great, nation-leading, role model that other states emulated.
