Obama seems intent on bringing back FDR’s New Deal times ten with his huge stimulus package: the worst deficit spending in history with all the usual waste, fraud, and payoff to special interests.
The Congressional Democrats, without a single Republican vote, passed an $819 billion bill that will punish our country for several generations. I understand it contains over $40 billion, that’s with a B, just for increased welfare goodies for our non-contributors, even payments to illegal aliens. FDR’s plan prolonged the great depression for almost ten years – until the war caused the turnaround. Let us hope that this action will not prolong economic recovery for a correspond length of time. FDR served up his socialist soup with a hearty helping of optimism; he told us our only fear was fear itself. Jughead, on the other hand, is giving us the opposite. He is scaring the heck out us by telling us it is going to get much worse before it gets better, and we will suffer for years with a trillion dollar deficit. Already thinking about 2012, he is clearly lowering expectations to protect himself from criticism when and if this disaster fails. One must assume either one of two things: he is as ignorant about economics as many think he is and is listening to his liberal staff rather than checking with history and learned that none of the last ten Democrat stimulus packages has worked. He knows the truth that it will not fix the economy, but his priority is to continue to enlarge government, continue the march toward a welfare state and creation of a dependent class. This has always been part of the Democrat playbook because they view it as a way to create millions of new voters and consolidate their power for years.
