Come on all you Democrat politicians, keep on confirming my cynical view of your ilk, and you ignorance-handicapped voters, keep on confirming my view of your wisdom in selecting your representatives.
The Illinois Legislature voted 114-1 to impeach disgraced Gov. Rod Blagojevich. It is the first time in the state's history, even for arguably the most corrupt state government in the country, that it has impeached its governor. There are former Illinois governors in prison, but, in this instance, Governor Slimeovich’s behavior was just too extreme to ignore. Incidentally, California seems intent on taking over the slime title for the country’s most corrupt state government. In Maryland, the state prosecutor has issued a 12-count criminal indictment against Baltimore Democrat Mayor Sheila A. Dixon. The legal filing charged Dixon with four counts of perjury and two counts of theft over $500, as well as theft under $500, fraudulent misappropriation by a fiduciary, and misconduct in office. And so it goes. I suppose it is fruitless to imagine that the inattentive public might suddenly start paying attention to the ethically deficient party it keeps putting in office – lawyer politicians that should be serving time instead of serving in office. Crooks such as Florida Congressman Alcee Hastings who is the only impeached judge, sitting int ehe U.S. Congress. Then, there was Congressman “cold cash” Jefferson who had $90,000 bribe money in his refrigerator. The Democrat head of the U.S. Senate, Harry Reid, shrugged off his involvement in the Nevada land deal swindle, for which any of us would be in jail.
