How much longer are we going to have to suffer with extreme leftist Lowell Blankfort’s first Tuesday column in our paper?
I had a fleeting thought of taking the lazy way and reading his column this month and responding, but decided against it. I decided it is just too easy because his stuff is so extreme and he stretches the truth so liberally, it’s fish in a barrel. Besides, it takes a high tolerance for boredom to wade completely through one of those tiresome screeds. Therefore, let me take an even lazier route and encapsulate what he almost certainly covered: Bush caused the financial crisis; Bush is a very stupid and very bad person who is not articulate like Hussein Obama. Big business is also bad. America is a bad country, not nearly as compassionate, caring, or intellectual, or good as other major countries. America could learn a lot even from third world countries like Cuba, where Communism, which can be a good system, would actually have succeeded if not for America’s blockade. Oh yes, and Israel is very bad and has been unfair to the Palestinians and has caused the PLO, Hezbollah, and Hamas to commit the terrorism that we see in the Middle East. You see, those terrorists who bomb schools, city busses, and shopping marts are just freedom fighters. Blankfort’s columns’ sign-off has a note that he is an award winning journalist; I didn’t know anyone gave an award for tedium.
