Iranian leaders are gleefully proclaiming that the world financial crisis indicates the end of capitalism, the failure of liberal democracy and divine punishment for America which proves the superiority of Iran’s totalitarian system.
"The West's cracking liberal democracy is now being heard," supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khomeini said on Monday. Then, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who backs Khomeini, said that "it is the end of capitalism." As usual, Iranian sentiments coincide with the execrable New York Times and some of the other major rags that are predicting Armageddon. B.O. has gained another support group in the last week. The American Communist Party is pumped about a B.O win; an official party spokesman said, “Our time has finally come.” It is a terrible thought but, if B.O. is elected, these statements may be prophetic. Obama showed his true colors when he responded to a plumber’s question about whether the plumber’s small business would have a tax increase to anticipate and if Obama felt that it was fair. B.O. answered that it was only right to “spread the wealth,” which is right out of the Communist manifesto statement, “from each according to his ability, to each according to his need.” Please, somebody tell B.O. that taxing small businesses inhibits growth, discourages incentive, increases prices, and stops new hiring; that he is planning the same steps that carried us into the big 1930’s Depression, because raising taxes and putting tariffs on imports are the worst things a government should do during a financial downturn. Tell him that Socialism has failed whenever it has been tried, and that it is immoral to take income away from those who earned it and give it to those who did not. Tell him also to stop lying when he says he will give Americans a net reduction in taxes when every economist with any sense knows he cannot increase spending by the trillions he plans, raise taxes, increase capital gains tax, and still have a net decrease. When lying politicians like B.O. say he is going to “spread the wealth,” it has an alluring effect upon the person who is not making a large salary and particularly one who actually pays almost no taxes. Socialism/Communism has lured many into the system claiming it will make everyone equal. It does indeed do that; it makes everyone equally poor and pathetic.
