Iran’s capture and imprisonment of British sailors and marines is a clear act of war, a danger to everyone in the free world, yet, the story leading the major media news is still Anna Nicole Smith. Just one more validation for my decision to place our major media in the same category as al Jazeera and avoid all of them. For the British to do nothing except bombard the issue with rhetoric is somewhat surprising, more like something one would expect from France, who would have surrendered before the capture hit the news wires. As they did in 2004, Iran will parade the sailors on Television, make a lot of noise about Iranian sovereignty, and blame the United States. The UN will do nothing, NATO will do nothing, and with Bush’s current assault from the DemPols in congress who want to abandon Iraq, we will do nothing. Pelosi, Reid, Murtha, and their ilk would offer an apology and beg for forgiveness. Iran rejected British requests to visit the group and claimed the Brits were in Iranian waters, and who could doubt such an honorable man as Ahmadinejad? The same man who vowed to “wipe out Israel, the ‘one-bomb’ state, and then address western countries,” the man who is developing nuclear weapon capability with the help of other nations and in the face of the unfailingly toothless UN sanctions.
